“ The ambiance was good! I loved how it felt super authentic and the owner was interacting with the customers in a fun way. The food was yummy, but it was a bit expensive. But I do think you're paying for the product. I really loved the whole grilled squid and the sauce it came with! Something else that was surprising to me was the chicken skewers. They were juicy and not dry at all which took me by surprise because chicken tends to get dry fast. My friends and I got the pot - thought it was pretty average but got us full quite fast. You get to choose what type of noodles you want to go along with it ”

“ We loved it here. Located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. The place itself is actually quite small which is why there's always a wait. The restaurant played good hip hop/ r&b music and wasn't too loud where you couldn't hear who you're with. There's only one bathroom though. We came right when it opened and was seated right away, but it filled up pretty quick. As for the service, the servers often check on you and since it's an open kitchen/grill if you sit right at the bar counter they serve you the food right there. We ordered a few things since we wanted to try like everything. Lol - fried crispy chicken skin. Good crunch and not too salty From the grill: - chicken; breast and thighs. I prefer the thigh as it was more juicy for obvious reasons lol but the breast was still good - chicken hearts. Great flavor - Chicken knee cartilage. Chewy.. - pork belly. A bit dry but still good - kalbi. Delightful - sausage. Good - king oyster mushroom. My fave - shishito peppers. It was just ok. - shiitake mushroom. Good Will def come back to try the rest of the menu! ”

Food: Beef tongue with Scallion 5/5 Fresh taste, tongue a bit overcooked Scallion provides a nice crunch Thick slices of meat Potato 3/5 It's a cooked sweet potato that has a slight char. It's tasty but not worth $5 Chicken thigh with salt and sauce 3/5 Chicken is tender and smoky. The salt has a bit of lemon in it. Ambiance: Izakaya vibes- a little grungy but in a warm comfortable environment. Service: Fast, friendly but if you have a large party, please give them a heads up. Lots of parking available. ”

“ The Yakitori Bar is a hidden gem that offers a wide variety of meats and veggies. We came here for dinner on a Wednesday night at 9pm, and it was pretty packed! We were able to grab a table without waiting, which was nice. We ordered the beef tongue, king oyster mushroom, chicken thighs, and chicken hearts. For some of the meats there's a salt or sauce option, I would say definitely go with the sauce if you want a flavor marinade with a great depth of flavor and go with the salt if you want to taste the natural flavors of the meat. The best bite of the meal was the king oyster mushrooms because of the sauce, bonito flakes on top, and the texture. It was so good. After eating all of our items, we ordered 2 more! My close second would be the chicken hearts. I feel like some yakitori places are super overpriced, but The Yakitori bar has high-quality items, so I thought the price was reasonable. We also ordered the calamansi soju drink and it was so delish!! if you want something refreshing that leans sour, definitely get this drink. Also, when we walked in, it felt like we were transported to Japan because the decor and restaurant set up was very reminiscent of yakitori bars we've been to while traveling. I would happily come back to the Yakitori bar time and time again. Every item was so good and I look forward to trying other items on the menu. ”

“ Stumbled upon this cute little spot on the way up from San Jose. It's a nice place to have drinks and yakitori with friends. We came on a Saturday night and there was no wait. But still very lively inside. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the view of all the chefs preparing the food. They had beers, sake and plum wine on the menu. We went with the plum wine because that is our absolute must order if it's on the menu. To eat we got a lot of skewers but mostly chicken and an onigiri. I wish the onigiri could have been more crispy but the flavor was there. The chicken thigh skewers was an absolute showstopper! I wish they could have had a chicken thigh and leek option though. The short rib was my next favorite, very juicy and tender. We also had the shishito pepper skewers and sweet potato. I really enjoyed both. Everything was so hearty and filling especially for the price point. I'd love to come back and also check out their sukiyaki options. ”

“ Came here 10/30/2024 The Yakitori Bar is a Japanese restaurant that specializes in chicken skewers (yakitori). More than a restaurant, it's a late-night pub izakaya. They open until midnight on weekdays and 1 am on weekends. I went around 8pm on a Thursday and there was no wait. Food: I got one of every single chicken skewer all with salt and not sauce. Good ones: wing, chicken oyster, momo (thigh), pork belly. Bad ones: neck, shoulder. The neck was gamey and didn't taste quite right. The shoulder was overcooked. Actually, all their chicken skewers are slightly overcooked here even though it wasn't busy when I went. Aside from skewers, I got their cheese mussels and those were excellent. Service: Cordial and quick, although chicken skewers shouldn't take too long. Pricing is decent and I attached a picture of the receipt to give you an idea of what you can expect for the bill. Ambiance: Really authentic, pictures all over the walls, tons of sake bottles, slightly divey. Great place to come with friends for drinks. TLDR: -1 star for gamey neck meat and general overcooking of skewers. ”

“ I Went on a saturday at 520 and there was no wait. When we came out at around 650 pm there were multiple parties waiting outside. The service was good. At times they brought things that were for another table, but no big deal. I just told them we didn't order that. Fyi it's smoky inside and the music is loud. This didn't bother me though. Takowasabi tasted potent and chewy just how i like it but the portion was tiny. There was too much seaweed in the dish. I would prefer no seaweed in it. Pork belly skewers were good as I expected. Beef tongue here was a little different for me. The pieces were thick and something about the taste was just off. I was disappointed because I loooove beef tongue. Gizzard was good. I liked the tougher texture and the taste. Short rib was probably the best skewer. It was juicy and the marinade was sweet. It would be nice if there was quail egg as an option. I do like the efficient ordering system of writing down how many of each skewer u want. Overall it was a good place. They also have soup on the menu. ”

“ We came here for our 4-year anniversary and it was just the vibe we wanted. It's in a tiny spot, but it's very lively inside and reminds me of the small izakayas in Tokyo. The food is delicious, each skewer is cooked just right. They have an expansive selection, as well as specials posted up inside. We tried the spicy tuna inari and the squid from the specials and they were both sooooo tasty. I really want to come back here. There's usually a wait, but I only waited 20 min max last time. ”
